Peter Capaldi and Doctor Who: Looking Back at the Twelfth Doctor

Peter Capaldi is leaving Doctor Who so we’re taking a look at why he makes an amazing Doctor and how he’ll be missed as the Time Lord.

The news is true everyone, Peter Capaldi is leaving Doctor Who. So we just wanted to take a moment to express why we loved Capaldi as the TARDIS traveling Time Lord. And get ready to hear about how he’s the “Sexy Doctor” for quite a lot of it.

Capaldi is like Tennant 2.0 in the fact that they were fans of the show before taking on leading it. Both had watched as kids, Capaldi just was a little bit nerdier than David was. Peter was a member of the fan club and wrote letters to the creators and wanted this show to be the best it could be.

So of course he made a great Doctor! He cared. Truly that is what makes Tennant, Smith, and Capaldi so great. Each cared about the show in their own ways and wanted to make it the best it could possibly me. Sometimes the storylines weren’t great and it all got muddled but at least we always had an actor leading the show who wanted it to be the best it could be.

The thing about the twelfth Doctor that we love is more than his general grumpiness. He took that carefree nature and childlike tantrums that Eleven had an threw them out the door. Twelve is moody and a bit of a rockstar and it makes him interesting to watch.

And come on, this scene is still one of the greatest in Doctor Who history and I’m comparing that to the Vincent Van Gogh scene.
