Queen Elizabeth

Yup, the Queen herself is a Whovian. Why wouldn’t she be? She’s had to deal with her fair share of foreign diplomacy, threats to her civilization, and a career that’s spanned decades. If rumors are to be believed, the Queen’s favorite is the Ninth Doctor.

The creator of The Simpons is a total fan and wrote his favorite Doctor into several episodes of this show and his other hit, Futurama. The Fourth Doctor makes a handful of appearances in the The Simpsons series, and he even named the main female lead in Futurama Turanga Leela as a nod.

Steven Spielberg

Spielberg is such a fan, in fact, that he almost directed  a film version of the series. Spielberg prefers the vintage seasons. He even offered a role in his animated hit, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?  Even after working with Steven Moffat on Tintin, Spielberg likes the old school better.

The fab four where such fans of the Doctor Who franchise in the ’60s, they wanted to appear in one of the episodes. They conceived of an episode involving the Doctor watching them perform as old men. Knowing what we know about John and George’s early deaths, it wouldn’t have really held up. Their manager advised against the guest spot (probably not because he foresaw the morbidity in this premise ) so, it was never meant to be. There is even a picture of John Lennon posing with a Dalek floating around the internet that might help prove their fandom.

Patrick Stewart

Its seems fitting that Patrick Stewart would be a Who fan. He’s most famous for playing Captain Jean-Luc Picard in a super famous sci-fi series of his own. It also comes full circle as the Doctor and Captain Picard star in a comic cross-over meant to make all fans swoon.

Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks is just an all around cool guy, and now that we know he’s a Whovian, his cool quotient just doubled.  He memories are of the early years of Doctor Who. He remembers, “We got our first colour TV in 1968 and in California that meant we got all these extra channels nobody watched which were filled with Doctor Who. You had the guy with the big red hair and the bow tie and it looked so weird because everyone talked in English accents and there were these big salt and pepper shaker robots.” That sounds like the Doctor Who we know and love, right?

David Beckham

David Beckham might just be the world’s most handsome Doctor Who, but that’s just in my humble opinion. He’s recently confessed that he likes to watch it with whole family. I didn’t think there was anything else about Becks that could make me swoon any more than I already do. I was wrong.

Robert Downey, Jr

Dear TV gods, please let there be an Iron Man/Doctor Who crossover in the works? What a dream that would be. He recently admitted  he was watching the show as research for an upcoming movie and described the show as “incredible.”

George Lucas

This should come as no surprise. George Lucas has built an empire (pun totally intended) around the concepts of time travel, space exploration, saving the universe. It’s totally understandable he would be a fan – he probably feels right at home.

Steven Hawking

Steven Hawking has been a very outspoken fan of the Doctor Who series. In fact, back when Peter Capaldi was still be considered for the role, Hawking was open abous his wishes the new Doctor would be a woman.
