Hilarious Mashup of Westworld and City Slickers

Funny or die reunites the stars of the 1991 western comedy City Slickers to send them on a Westworld adventure.

It’s been twenty six years since Billy Crystal and Daniel Stern starred in the big city guys go cowboy comedy City Slickers, and it’s going to be about twenty six years until the next season of Westworld. Perhaps it was only a matter of time before City Slickers and Westworld got the comedy mashup treatment, but this is so much more than we ever could have hoped. For once we don’t think we need a spoiler warning, if you haven’t seen City Slickers yet that’s on you.

Joining Crystal and Stern are Westworld stars Luke Hemsworth as Ashley Stubbs, Ptolemy Slocum as Sylvester, and Angela Sarafyan as Clementine Pennyfeather.

Funny or Die has been a bit hit or miss lately, but they certianly hit the nail on the head here. The idea that Mitch and Phil are Westworld’s most annoying hosts is just fantastic. We particularly liked that Phil was the Teddy of this wonderful spoof. The guys gathered around the campfire was also a great touch and a nod to real Westworld fans.

This is now our favorite Westworld spoof, it has dethroned the Jon Snow is a Game of Thrones host and his coming back to life was just his loop being reset spoof. That was of course a hilarious mashup as well, but combining the two biggest HBO shows isn’t as big a leap as this; digging up a 1991 comedy classic takes more imagination.
