5. Lyanna Mormont

Some leaders are taught. Others are born. Lyanna Mormont might not even be a teenager, but she still manages to cower seasoned men thrice her age. You can’t teach that. Lyanna might have inherited her role as opposed to being elected, but she appears more than capable of ruling her tiny corner of the North, and perhaps even more.

Lyanna left an impression even before fans saw her in the flesh. In season 5, Stannis received a letter she wrote where she refused to join him in his march on Winterfell, asserting that Bear knew no king but the King in the North, whose name was Stark. Her loyalty has in turn earned her the loyalty of her men, and like any good leader, she’s willing to listen to sound council before making a decision, as she did when Jon, Sansa and Davos approached her about supporting their bid to retake Winterfell.

If Mormont has a weakness (other than not being legally old enough to run for president), it’s a lack of experience. Running Bear Island and keeping her people safe at such a young age is an accomplishment, but running the United States is a good deal more complicated. Still, the foundation is there. She just has to build some great deeds on it.
