The Best Doctor Who Guest Stars, Because You Probably Forgot All About Them

Reminding you of some of the best Doctor Who guest stars because we’re feeling a little nostalgic today.

Any series that’s been on for as long as this one, surely has a vault full of interesting and and fun cameos. Here’s a handful of the best Doctor Who guest stars. Let me know which of your favorites I left out.

James Corden – “The Lodger”

James Corden played, Craig, the Doctor’s erstwhile roommate. Craig helped the Doctor in his investigations, and appeared in “Closing Time,” a year later.

Andrew Garfield – “Daleks in Manhattan”

Long before he was spinning webs and saving the world from bad guys, Spiderman was fighting the Daleks in 1930s New York. Garfield tried his hand at a Southern accent in his two-parter episode with the second installment titled, “Evolution of the Daleks.”

Kylie Minouge -“Voyage of the Damned”

American music fans probably know Kylie Minogue as a pop star, but Doctor Who fans will recognize her as Astrid Peth, a waitress on an intergalactic replica of the Titanic. Astrid and David Tennant’s Doctor had a bit of a moment until tragedy struck the poor woman.

Anthony Head – “School Reunion”

Anthony Head’s experience as the studious Giles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer prepared him for this guest spot. He played Mr. Finch, a winged alien disguising himself as a head master. Seems like Head might have a certain type of role he likes to play.

Meredith Viera –  “The Wedding of River Song”

Meredith Vieira played herself in the episode and only had one line. But leave it to Doctor Who to make that one line combine both Wooly Mammoths and Winston Churchill.

John Cleese – “City of Death”

John Cleese appeared in an episode of the old series during Tom Baker’s tenure as the Doctor. Cleese played an art lover commenting on the aesthetic value of the TARDIS itself.
