20) ELLIE KENDRICK

If any character on Game of Thrones deserves a ‘stand by your man award,’ it may be Meera Reed, as acknowledgement for her long, difficult journey spent protecting Bran Stark. Life in Westeros isn’t easy, and as actress Ellie Kendrick told Comicsverse, that suits her fine: “I approach every role often in the same way. I often take parts that I find terrifying. The level of terror normally corresponds to the level of me wanting to do it. If I’m really scared, I think: ‘This is something I’ve got to do.’ I’m sort of a bit of an adrenaline junkie in terms of the roles I take.”

The London-born Kendrick has starred as Tina in An Education (2009), Clover in The Leveling (2016) and Eva in Native (2016), but you may know her best from her role as Anne Frank in the 2010 BBC TV adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank. Kendrick (right, in photo above) acts alongside Tamsin Greig and a barely recognizable Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont).

Kendrick’s TV credits include a 2013 part as the superpowered Helen in Misfits (photo above), a series that also employed Thrones co-stars Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton), Josef Altin (Pypar), Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark) and Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei). She also appeared in Being Human (2012-2013), Upstairs, Downstairs (2010) and Inspector Lewis (2007).

Kendrick had three films slated for release in 2016, which may be why she has nothing new (beyond Thrones) coming out in 2017.
