39) TOM WLASCHIHA
German-born actor Tom Wlaschiha inhabits the mysterious Jaqen H’ghar with a wonderful kind of knowing. It sounds like Wlaschiha would love to continue his journey with Arya (Maise Williams), as he explained to HBO in 2016:
"I think we’ve always had a great dynamic. I love how Maisie’s character changes. She grows up with the character, and the character grows up with her. In … Season 5 she’s already much more – I don’t want to say scheming – but she makes conscious decisions and she thinks of the consequences. It’s great for an actor to be able to play alongside a part that grows with you."
As Wlaschiha worked to expand beyond the German entertainment scene, he took on a series of bit parts in big Hollywood productions, such as a Soldier in Enemy at the Gates (2001), a News Crewman in Munich (2005) and a Communications Officer in Valkyrie (2008, with Carice van Houten). Bigger success followed with meatier roles such as Albrecht in Resistance (2011, above), Harald Ertl in Rush (2013) and Prince Albert in Mr. Turner (2014).
Wlaschiha has made a splash in TV in his role as Sebastian Berger in Crossing Lines (2013-2015, above). He’s also had parts on other series like The Air Rescue Team (2000-2004), The Deep (2010), The Sarah Jane Adventures (2010) and Borgia (2014).
