‘Hey, they were in Game of Thrones’—Where else have you seen these 50 GoT cast members?
50) KIT HARINGTON
Kit Harington basically walked out of acting school and into the role of the handsome and brooding Jon Snow. Luckily for us, he found his way into the character and his career has taken off from there.
The London-born Harington quickly tried to branch out into different movie roles, including Vincent in Silent Hill: Revelation 3D (2012), Milo in Pompeii (2014, above), Will Holloway in MI-5 (2015) and dim-witted tennis player Charles Poole in the TV comedy 7 Days in Hell (2015). He also voiced the character of Admiral Salen Kotch in the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare video game (2016).
Perhaps one of Harington’s finest non-Thrones efforts so far has been his performance as the young lover Roland Leighton in Testament of Youth (2014, above, with Alicia Vikander). As Harington explained in a 2015 interview with The Independent, the role of Leighton and others like it hold the key to his future:
"I’m not going to be that person (Jon Snow) for ever. So I can’t let the industry decide that’s who I am. I need to do stuff for my own … creativity. My own … my own health, really. I created one character and then everyone sees you as that character – and I didn’t get into this game for that."
Look to the TV Mini-series Gunpowder (with Thrones castmate Mark Gatiss) and the feature film The Death and Life of John F. Donovan for your extra-Thrones Harington fixes in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
