Why Chris Pine Would Make a Great Thirteenth Doctor

When it comes to who the next Doctor should be, we all have our opinions and mine is that we should have Chris Pine take on playing the Doctor.

Okay so maybe Chris Pine wouldn’t be the best choice to play the Doctor. But this is my dream scenario so go with me. As my favorite actor, Chris did the impossible and tackled James Tiberius Kirk with his own special flare and made even the most die hard of Star Trek fans like his portrayal.

So why wouldn’t he be great as the Doctor? We’ve already talked about an American playing the role and we just had our first Scottish Doctor (not first Scottish actor but you know the story). And I think if they were to get an American to play him, he’d have to be a big name.

In the UK, Doctor Who has always catapulted whoever plays the Doctor into stardom across the world. They may have been famous in the UK before but now everyone across the globe would know who they were.

But I think if an American was going to play the Doctor, they’d have to be someone everyone already kind of knew. It wouldn’t work the way it did before. So Chris, with his fame and talent, would bring a lot more publicity to the show as well.

And honestly, looking at those blue eyes week after week? That’d be a dream come true for everyone who loves the show.

Chris Pine is my choice and it is completely selfish. But hey, I love Doctor Who and I love Chris so why not theoretically combine two things I love into one? It wouldn’t ever happen but you know what? A girl can dream.
