Bookies Pick Fleabag Actress As A Favorite For The New Doctor Who
By Sundi Rose
Bookies have picked Fleabag actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge as the favorite for the new Doctor Who, and this is a pick we can totally get on board with.
I know. I know. Everybody is tired of all the speculation about who’s going to be the new Doctor Who, but I just can’t help myself. It seems like the bookies at Betway like Fleabag actress, Phoebe Waller-Bridge for the thirteenth Doctor, and you have to admit, it’s an inspired choice.
Betway bookmakers told Doctor Who TV that the money is on Waller-Bridge. She’s even edged out over previous favorites Tilda Swinton and Olivia Coleman, and you can’t deny the power of the betting public.

Bookies at Betway told Doctor Who TV, “Phoebe Waller-Bridge is all the rage with the punters at the moment. Her odds of being the next Doctor Who have collapsed from 20/1 to 2/1 since Monday morning and we’re on red alert, keeping an eye out for any more telling bets.”
Waller-Bridge plays the title character on the Amazon original series, Fleabag. It follows the life of (probably) depressed, single girl, living in London, mourning the a couple of very tragic life events. She also worked with Chris Chibnall in the second season of Broadchurch, in which she played Abby.

The case for a female Doctor is strengthening by the minute, as more and more actresses are mentioned. Jessica Bridge of another betting house, Ladbrokes, told Newsbeat, “It’s starting to look like a case of when and not if the first female Doctor is announced.”
Sure, folks are gonna be mad if the new Doctor is announced as a woman, but you just can’t please everyone all the time. Phoebe Waller-Bridge might not have been the obvious choice all along, but now that betters have put their money where their mouth is, we’re totally on board.
