Steven Moffat Hints At The Regeneration In The New Season
By Sundi Rose
Steven Moffat has been quite chatty of late, and is giving some hints at the regeneration in new season, including how this Doctor might leave us.
Here we are, just days away from the start of the 10th season of Doctor Who. Steven Moffat is dropping some serious hints about the new season, and we’re gonna dissect them thoroughly. He spoke to RadioTimes at the BFI and Radio Times Television Festival this weekend about what to expect. He gave a few hints about what Peter Capaldi’s Doctor’s regneration might look like.
Moffat waxed nostalgic, saying, “With Matt I had a sort of idea that his entire run should be in the pre-math of a battle he’s having at the end of his life. He went on to say, “But with Peter I wasn’t quite sure. I wasn’t sure for a long time whether I’d be writing him out or whether he’d be carrying on with [new showrunner] Chris Chibnall.”
He says the way in which Capaldi’s Doctor will go out will be authentic to the character, honoring the spirit of this Doctor in ever way. Since the Tweflth Doctor has led such an unexpected existence, thus far, that his regeneration would echo that. He went on to give some pretty vague hints, but hints nonetheless.
"That fits his Doctor, though. [Capaldi’s] Doctor feels sort of impulsive and in the moment and would do something reckless that you wouldn’t expect. That suits me.“And I mean, you can overstate the difficulty of planning a finale for a Doctor. In the end, any Doctor Who story has such catastrophe going on in it, that he could be the one that gets the rock on his head. But I think I’m really happy with what we’re doing for his finale. I’m just working on it now. It’s quite early. I should be further through it, but there you go.”"

Of course, this could mean a million different things, if we know Moffat, but at least we have something exciting and unexpected to look forward to.
