Together with Ed Sheeran, New York Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard is one two high-profile celebrities who will have cameos in Game of Thrones season 7. (And there are rumors of more.) Talking to Sports Illustrated, Syndergaard said that being on the show was “a dream come true” and revealed more details about his role.

“I think it’s the greatest TV show of all time, so just to be able to say I was in Game of Thrones is an unbelievable feeling.” We can imagine.

Syndergaard was on set in Spain for “one long day” in November of last year, filming in the village of Cáceres. While he didn’t say what other characters were involved in his scene (“I really want to, though.”), he did reveal that he plays “a Lannister general.” He certainly has the hair for it.

What’s more, Syndergaard admitted that his character, who has no lines, either kills something or dies, “maybe both.”

Before Syndergaard left, Sports Illustrated also got him to play a little game where he went through the Mets rotation and assigned each of them a Game of Thrones character.

Finally, the most important question: did Syndergaard swipe anything from the set? “I wanted to take a couple swords, but they didn’t let me.”

We don’t know when Syndergaard will pop up, but we’ll be looking out for him when season 7 hits the air on July 16.
