We Have A New Doctor. Maybe. And Possibly A Lot Sooner
By Sundi Rose
Rumors (and bookies) are suggesting Kris Marshall will be the new Doctor, but he could make his appearance a lot sooner than we originally thought.
Vague reports surface citing “sources close to the show,” indicating we might have a new Doctor. He’s been favored by Ladbrokes’ bookies and betters alike, but now it might be official.
Kris Marshall is believed to be showrunners’ pick for the Thirteenth Doctor.
The Death in Paradise actor announced his departure from that hit show in February, and speculation started over the weekend. The Daily Mail says, “Ladbrokes’ spokesman Alex Donohue admitted: “A surge of punters have backed Marshall so we’ve had no choice but to close the book.”
"The Daily Mail reports, “Our source revealed: ‘Kris Marshall has already joined the cast and will regenerate at the end of this series, not in the Christmas special.'”"
These “sources” so go on to suggest that Marshal might have already joined the cast, and is participating in filming as we speak. Addressing all the rumors that the New Doctor might be a woman or a person of color, The Mail’s reporting agents were skeptical, saying, “They won’t risk a woman Doctor. They want a David Tennant type.”

This weekend’s season 10 premiere was a successful first outing, by all accounts. This season will be Peter Capaldi, Steven Moffatt, and possibly Pearl Mackie’s last season, so we are all watching extremely closely for any kind of clue about replacements.
