11) BRONN

A down and dirty street fighter like Daario, the sellsword Bronn is also a member of the lightly-armored and super fast sword fighting school, preferring to dodge and weave a more heavily armored opponent and then cut him to pieces when he is exhausted, as displayed in his masterful defeat of Ser Vardis Egen.  Though Bronn rises to great heights, being knighted for his critical actions during the Battle of the Blackwater, Bronn is ranked behind the Mountain because Bronn himself never felt he could defeat him.

10) OBERYN MARTELL

The handsome, hugely skilled Oberyn would land higher on this list if not for the moment of boastful inattention that got him killed. He took on the role of Tyrion’s champion in order to avenge the deaths of his sister and her children at the hands of the Mountain; his impressive speed and fighting moves were world-class, but he let his emotions get the better of him, and thus, sadly, he snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

9) THE MOUNTAIN

Perhaps the most terrifying of all Westerosi lords, Ser Gregor Clegane is a walking slaughterhouse whose excessively violent nature is surpassed only by his titanic size. He was knighted by Rheagar Targaryen despite his dishonorable reputation and did nothing afterward to improve his reputation. Cersei selects Ser Gregor as her champion at Tyrion’s trial by combat; though he manages to kill Oberyn Martell after being largely outclassed by him, Oberyn’s manticore venom-tipped spears make his severe wounds mortal. Ser Gregor is saved by the mysterious Qyburn, who transforms him into some kind of battle monster.

8) THE HOUND

More of a brawler than a technician, The Hound simply destroys every opponent he comes across. He doesn’t want to be a knight, and his enjoyment in the act of killing is tempered somewhat by his own odd code of ethics. He is a powerhouse in battle, but he is terrified of fire. He has defeated the swordsman Beric Dondarrion, and can plow through a squad of regular soldiers with minimal difficulty, but meets his match when bested by Brienne of Tarth.
