Doctor Who TV: What We Know About ‘Knock Knock’ So Far

After a phenomenal episode, it’s time to go home. To a new home, anyway. Doctor Who’s Knock Knock is here.

More from Winter is Coming

In Doctor Who’s ‘Knock Knock’, we visit Bill’s new home, a cheap apartment/castle looking building with cheap rent. Perfect for her and her friends, right?

We already have at least two trailers out for ‘Knock Knock’ and know a few things about the sound of the episode.

Here’s the BBC Synopsis

"Bill is moving in with some friends and they’ve found the perfect house – so what if it’s strangely cheap to rent, and the landlord is a little creepy? The wind blows, the floorboards creak, and the Doctor thinks something is very wrong. What lurks in the strange tower at the heart of the building – and why can’t they find any way to enter it?The Doctor is played by Peter Capaldi, Bill by Pearl Mackie and Nardole by Matt Lucas. David Suchet guest stars at the Landlord."

After another great episode with the friend-chemistry of Bill and The Doctor, I’m so excited for a new episode. I can’t wait to see how he reacts to her friends, and by the video preview “We Should Get The Doctor”, it seems like Bill has not held back on her adventures with her friend. Finally, Nardole being back can suggest that we’re going to see the large vault. Am I the only viewer who’s counting the knocks?

Here is the official trailer for ‘Knock Knock’:

And this other teaser that BBC has put up as well on Youtube, that is entitled “We Should Get The Doctor.”

In this preview, we hear a bunch of knocking (hence the name) of Bill and her (friend?) Shireen. I hope I’m not stretching too far, and am not the first one to point out that knocking is how John Simms’ Master came into the show back in Series 4. I haven’t heard four knocks though, no matter how hard I tried.

Sidenote: Didn’t Rose have a friend name Shireen?

Sound Effects

We also know that on BBC iPlayer, this episode will have an option to be played with 3D audio, making it all the more scary to an episode that is supposed to be one of the scariest yet. It is not reported yet whether BBC America will offer the same idea online.

The BBC reported that this on the subject of the binaural episode.

"Please note: a special binaural audio edition of this episode will be available on BBC iPlayer immediately after it is broadcast on TV. This creates a 3D surround sound effect for anyone wearing headphones, placing them at the heart of the action in this nail-biting episode."

It looks like it will not be available to Americans, unfortunately.

A time for this episode has not been confirmed for BBC One, but it will be on at 9 PM on BBC America as always. It will air May 6.
