Doctor Who Rumors: The Answer to Who’s in the Vault is Right Under Our Nose
Sometimes, the answer is hiding right under our nose. Thanks to another article written on Fansided, we might have just found the answer as to who is in the vault after all.
And if what they found is any indication, then I have been wrong to dismiss the idea so quickly. While no one one is credited as any kind of master in the episode where we’re supposed to find out the answer to whose in the vault — Michelle Gomez is credited as Missy.
"A quick IMDb search for the next episode, “Oxygen,” shows a cast list clear of any Masters. But for the episode after that, “Extremis,” Michelle Gomez is in fact credited as Missy."
Who knew that all we would have to do is take an imdb search and we’d have all of our answers. As I wrote in an earlier post, it does explain this picture, where Missy seems to be laying on something, such as a piano.
Many fans have said that before they even knew about the piano part of the plot, when they saw this, it was the first thing they thought of.
Okay, so Missy’s back!
Yes, it’s safe to assume that fan favourite, Missy, played by Michelle Gomez, is back and ready to stir things up for the second half of the season. Who knows the kind of mischief and evil she’ll bring along. We always knew she was away, she just disappeared after the first episode of Season Nine, with the Daleks.
Honestly, out of the ideas presented, I’m glad it’s not something crazy. Having Missy come back is by far the easiest option. I’m sure she’ll tease the Doctor about his regeneration, causing more drama in that department.
What if this is all a red herring?
You mean, what if she’s credited in the episode because there’s a photo of her on the wall somewhere? I suppose it’s likely, but I’m finally, personally, putting this to rest. The fans were right, and it would make sense for Moffat to bring back the easiest option so early in the season. If this were episode 12 or even episode 10, I would say it’s more likely we’re about to see John Simm or some version of the Doctor we’ve never seen.
But with it only in episode six, Missy is just evil enough to make things exciting for the Doctor in his last episodes, but not too crazy that we’d be dealing with a huge plot hole so early in the series that we’d have to fix.
Where’s The Master?
Wouldn’t it be awesome, though, if they were both in there? I’m guessing that Missy already knows about the Doctor’s fear of regeneration, and whatever the plotline is about the Master. Now all we have to do is watch her lay out the red carpet.
