Time for our weekly posting and gathering of everything we can give you to get ready for the episode. In case you aren’t aware, we posted a recap/review of last week’s episode, and then the arc as a whole.
The Empress of Mars causes the Doctor to pause while he figures out who he’s supposed to fight for — the Ice Warriors, who are evil but have always been on Mars, and this is their homeland. Or, should he fight for the Londoners, the innocent ones (but really, how did they end up on Mars?) but the invaders in this sense. Everything is turned upside down in this episode!
We also wanted you to be ready to know everything about the Ice Warriors, so we’re giving you a history lesson on the Ice Warriors!
Alright, as always, let’s look at the synopsis of the episode.
"Written by Mark Gatiss and directed by Wayne Yip.The Doctor, Bill and Nardole arrive on Mars, and find themselves in an impossible conflict between Ice Warriors… and Victorian soldiers. As the Martian hive awakens around them, the Doctor faces a unique dilemma – this time the humans, not the Ice Warriors are the invaders. When Earth is invading Mars, whose side is he on?"
We also have some teasers, but not before Gatiss himself explains the episode.
“A new kind of Ice Warrior.” I wonder what that could mean…
This says Tomb of an Ice Queen, but for some reason, I don’t think they mean Elsa. Maybe there’s going to be women in this new Ice Warrior race!
This has said to be Gatiss’s last story for Doctor Who, so shouldn’t it be the story he’s always wanted to do?? I’m a huge fan of Gatiss’s episodes, and I can’t wait to see what he’s cooked up for us next.
