HBO releases more new images from Game of Thrones season 7

There are less than two weeks before the premiere of Game of Thrones season 7, and HBO has released a couple more new images on its Making Game of Thrones blog. Check out the first of two:

Behold Daenerys Targaryen, looking at her new throne on Dragonstone. Do we think this is her beholding it for the first time? HBO is most likely to release images from the early episodes, after all, lest it give away something about what happens later. I’m probably reading into things too much here, but it looks like she’s hesitant to take those final few steps — she’s wanted a throne in the Seven Kingdoms for a long time, but now that it’s within reach, the enormity of what it means must be weighing on her.

Next up, we have Sansa and Littlefinger strolling through the snow-covered courtyard in Winterfell.

If I had to guess, I’d say this is another part of the discussion they’ve having in this photo:

It looks like their conversation will take them all over the castle grounds. Personally, I hope we’re in for a good ‘ol fashioned Aaron Sorkin-style walk-and-talk.

As for what they’re talking about…I dunno. Plotting. Scheming. Conspiring. Etcetera. Aidan Gillen (Littlefinger) has hinted at a lot of back and forth between Sansa and Petyr Baelish this season, which is only natural considering where their relationship is right now. Sansa looks a little wary in the new picture, though.

We’ll find out more about these images soon enough. Game of Thrones season 7 airs on July 16, and that makes us very happy.
