Back to the Citadel we go, as Sam is helping Ebrose gather research for his upcoming book on the wars following the death in Robert Baratheon. The only man to beat Robert in battle? Sam’s father Randyll. The circle is now complete. Maybe that’s why Ebrose has enlisted Sam specifically to be his research assistant for this project?

The Citadel seriously has all the books.

Sam is less than enthused by Ebrose’s title for his book. It’s the least rebellious act of his day.

Back in the greyscale ward, Jorah is writing a letter to Dany explaining his that’s he’s beyond a cure. Get a closer look at the letter here.

But help is on the way! Sam shows up determined to save Jorah’s life, despite knowing little to nothing about healing. Some liquid courage is required.

Somehow, Jorah’s greyscale looks even worse now than it did that morning.

Sam’s big idea is to peel the greyscale off like a scab. No one’s ever thought of that?

Here’s a wonderful close up of Sam’s “cure” in action.

Here’s a shot of me watching the scene. I mean, Jorah. This is Jorah.

And because Game of Thrones producers love us so much, they cut from Jorah’s diseased skin to this pie. Thanks, guys.

We have left the Citadel and travelled to the Inn at the Crossroads. Arya is looking distant here, lost in thought.

But then Hot Pie shows up, and who isn’t in a better mood when Hot Pie is around?

Arya perks up a bit, but is still strangely cold. She’s got regicide on the brain 24/7, this one. Also, she apparently forgot how to eat without getting food all over her face.

Our man Hot Pie takes it all in stride, though, even after Arya gulps down this cup of ale.

He eventually reveals that Jon has retaken Winterfell and become the King in the North, which stuns Arya. She finally shows some genuine emotion.

“Try not to get killed,” she says. Aw. Is this the last we’ll ever see of Hot Pie?

Outside, Arya is at a literal and figurative crossroads. She can choose between family or vengeance.

Arya chooses family and heads north to Winterfell. Feelings.
