Is it just me, or is King’s Landing looking more vibrant this year?

Anyway, Euron has arrived back in the city, his captives in tow.

Euron is looking quite pleased with himself, and why wouldn’t he be, riding that horse? The kraken armor is a great touch.

Yara is understandably less impressed than I am, and seems far away.

The leather collar is a big indignity. And you thought your uncle was crazy.

Here’s a great shot of the underside of a bridge. On-location shooting pays off again.

In the Red Keep throne room, Cersei is looking the part of the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.

Jaime surveys Euron wearily, but Cersei only has eyes for the women who murdered her daughter.

If Cersei was expecting Ellaria to beg, she is dead wrong. Ellaria immediately spits in Cersei’s general direction.

Cersei seems to take it in stride, though. She has plans for later.

Euron, eyes bugged out to the max, asks for his reward. But Cersei demurs, saying he’ll have his “heart’s desire” after the war is won. The old stringing along strategy.

Euron can deal with that, and continues to soak in the love of the crowd.

And if he’s annoyed, he takes his frustration by picking on Jaime, needling him with comments about them being “brothers” and asking for his advice on how to best sex Cersei.

Jaime is shook.

Meanwhile, down in the Red Keep dungeons, Cersei has Ellaria bound and gagged.

Lena Headey is pure fire in this scene. I didn’t notice it until later, but Headey’s lips are a slightly different shade than normal.

Qyburn and the Mountain are also on hand. The Mountain’s presence is significant, since he killed Oberyn Martell in front of Ellaria.

Tyene Sand, the final Sand Snake. She has no idea what’s coming…although she probably knows it’s bad.

Cersei turns her attention to Tyene, and confesses she deals with her insomnia by thinking of ways to murder her enemies. Just not a good day for the Sands.

And Ellaria knows it. Kudos to Indira Varma for some great emoting.

Cersei removes Tyene’s gag and kisses her full on the mouth.

Instantly, the two Dornishwomen realize what has happened.

Cersei wipes away the poison. It was, of course, the Long Farewell, the same thing Tyene and Ellaria used to kill Mrycella.

Like Ellaria before her, Cersei quickly downs the antidote.

Ellaria is shattered, and now faces the prospect of watching her daughter die and rot in front of her. She can’t even give her a comforting touch on account of the chains.

Looks like we’ve seen the last of the Sand Snakes.
