Jon Snow and company are on thin ice in new clip from “Beyond the Wall”
By Corey Smith
Tonight on Game of Thrones, Jon Snow and company will travel to the far North in at attempt to capture a wight. Although they have the best intentions, it strikes us as a bit of a suicide mission.
And HBO does nothing to allay that impression in this new clip from tonight’s episode, “Beyond the Wall.” Here, Jon and his merry band are on thin ice in more than one sense of the word.
As our heroes flee an avalanche of the undead, their path takes them across a frozen body of water. Unfortunately, the ice begins to crack under their weight. With the dead not far behind, that ice doesn’t seem likely to hold. Because Jon doesn’t have enough problems, now drowning is a real possibility.
The only refuge in sight is a rock outcropping, the same one we’ve seen in the season 7 trailers.
Penultimate episodes of Game of Thrones typically have a high body count, and given the dangerous nature of Jon’s mission, we expect nothing less from this episode. Been nice knowing some of you.
