Tourism Ireland adds scenes from “Eastwatch” to its Game of Thrones Tapestry

Each week, Tourism Ireland reveals new sections of its Game of Thrones Tapestry, a tremendously ambitious project that aims to retell the story of the show one scene at a time, and all through panels weaved in the style of a panels weaved in the style of a Bayeux tapestry.

So far, the results have been absolutely gorgeous, as you can see by looking at the panels modeled after the Loot Train Attack from “The Spoils of War”:

Drogon dominates this three-panel story, with other important players — Jaime, Bronn, Tyrion, Daenerys, the Dothraki — jockeying for space beneath. It’s a wonderful representation of that epic battle, and mythologizes it in a way that the show itself can’t.

We’re back to having three different scenes for “Eastwatch” — check out a video of Tourism Ireland weaving them into the tapestry below:

So we’ve got Dany’s small council at work, Gendry returning to the fold, and Jon Snow’s SEAL Team Six heading north of the Wall. We can’t wait to see the tapestry when it’s fully completed.

By the way, you can see every panel made so far by visiting Tourism Ireland’s website. Or, if you simply must see all this beauty in person, it’s on display at the Ulster Museum in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Finally, Tourism Ireland released an animated version of the scene from “Battle of the Bastards” where Daenerys torches the slavers’ ships:

This tapestry is really starting to make the case for a Game of Thrones animated series — just saying.
