There’s one thing Jodie Whittaker would do differently during her time waiting for the news to be announced…
Remember not even two months ago, when we all had a different mind of who would be the Doctor? (Wait…we still do.) The only difference between today and two months ago is that we have an answer, even if it’s one people don’t like.
Besides all that, two months ago, a good portion of people were very sure that Phoebe Waller-Bridge was going to be the Doctor. Despite the fact that Waller-Bridge had multiple gigs going on, that still didn’t stop the believers. So much so, that she rallied to the top of the betting list up until a few days before the announcement, when Whittaker’s name came out of nowhere.

Where does that leave the two actresses now?
Well, Jodie Whittaker actually feels bad! She has apologized to Waller-Bridge for all the attention she got for a role she wasn’t going to get.
On BBC Radio 2, Jodie explained,
"“It was just amazing that Phoebe Waller-Bridge had all that and she dealt with it all so amazingly and gracefully.“And at no point could I just text her and go, ‘I’m so sorry’ – because I was under the radar the entire time until the last few days."
Jodie went on to explain how she dealt with knowing when no one else could.
"“It was a full military operation – I basically whispered for three months. [Keeping the news secret] was getting really tedious… that even in my own kitchen I was still talking like that. If the window was open I’d get like, ‘what have I said, what have I said?!’”"
Jodie continues to be a wonderful person and actress as she’s dealt with the oncoming media and fans! People have already started lining up with her when they see her on the street. Some have gone as far as to follow her car!

Make sure you give her some space, let her enjoy her time before she enters the Doctor era. As for Phoebe Waller-Bridge, we’re all huge fans of the Fleabag star, and would love for her to visit the TARDIS on an episode! Hey, anything’s possible!
