As we return to our boys, the Hound is looking a little impatient…

…and decides to toss a stone at the wights across the lake.

It lands home. The zombies’ expressions all seem to say “not cool.”

Encouraged, the Hound tries again.

Only this time, the stone doesn’t quite make it across the lake, and lands on the now-hard ice.

And that’s how the Hound kicked off World War III.

Jorah goes straight for his dragonglass weapons.

While the Hound sticks with Gendry’s hammer.

Of course Beric has a lightsaber. Err, flaming sword. Also, where is the ignition button? We can’t see one.

The wights begin to swarm.

Beric lights one of fire. Flaming wights, like flaming bears, are awesome.

The Hound opts to smash a hole in the ice. If only everyone had done this, we’d have had another standoff.

Tormund busts out his wicked axe.

Tormund goes from happy-go-lucky to utterly terrified in one episode.

This poor guy falls off the rocks.

And this is his point of view.

Absolutely horrifying.

This shot reminded us of Jon’s near death experience at the Battle of the Bastards, only this redshirt doesn’t make it out alive.

Jon’s reaction makes us think it reminded him of that battle, as well.

Things are looking rather hopeless for our heroes.
