Game of Thrones Screencap Breakdown: “Beyond the Wall”
By Corey Smith
Dany has arrived with her dragons, and is unleashing hell on the wights.
Ice, meet fire.
Love this shot of Rhaegal and Viserion burning wights like kindling.
See? We told you wights can’t swim.
Our heroes are stunned. Many of them have never seen a dragon. Also, check out those dragonglass daggers they’re all wielding.
As Ser Davos once said, fire melts ice.
Amazing overhead shot. The dragons showing up and torching everything was one of the few things the episode got really, really right.
Fire. Fire everywhere.
Should have just got on the damn dragon, Jon.
The Night King is all, “I’m gonna deal with this BS, right now.”
At first it looks like the Night King will attack Drogon, but that’s not his target.
We love that the Hound ensured that the wight would not fall off by impaling him on one of Drogon’s spikes.
The Night King chooses his target, and aims his ice missile.
The missile in flight, which looks an awful lot like Bronn’s scorpion bolt.
The moment of impact. Look at that thing.
Seeing Drogon literally go down in flames was brutal.
As were the screams of Drogon and Rhaegal.
Blood is just gushing from Viserion’s wound.
Seeing Rhaegal follow Viserion down almost to the ground was gut-wrenching.
Ugh. Viserion, covered in blood, slipping beneath the ice.
And we adore Jorah for looking at Dany in this scene, unlike everyone else.
