See the track listing for the Game of Thrones season 7 soundtrack

Rejoice, Game of Thrones fans: the digital version of the soundtrack for season 7 has an official release date. According to series composer Ramin Djawadi, it will drop this Friday, August 25th.

For those keeping score, that’s more than an entire month before the physical edition of the soundtrack hits on September 29th — it’ll be on CD, and there’ll be a double vinyl set later in the year. Djawdi did not specify on which digital platforms the soundtrack would be released, but it’s likely to include iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play. As of this writing, the digital edition is not available for pre-order (although the physical edition is available for pre-order via Amazon).

The soundtrack released comes to us courtesy WaterTower Music, a division of Warner Bros. Records. WaterTower has handled the soundtrack releases since season 3. Seasons 1 and 2 were handled by Varese Sarabande.

With an air time of close to 80 minutes, the season 7 finale, “The Dragon and the Wolf,” should provide ample time for Djawadi to shine. Last year’s season finale, “The Winds of Winter,” brought us the unforgettable track “Light of the Seven,” and we can only hope Djawadi has something equally epic up his sleeve.

A lot of those tracks are associated with episode titles or with lines of dialogue we’ve heard, although there are a couple of interesting ones in there, particularly “Truth” and “No One Walks Away from Me.” The odds that Cersei will say that to someone seem very high. As for “Truth,” it could refer to Jon (or Bran, or Sam) finding out the truth about Jon Snow’s parentage.
