Why Sally Sparrow should come back for another episode

In this week’s characters revisited, we take a look at Sally Sparrow, the girl known for discovering the now infamous villain alien on Doctor Who, the Weeping Angels.

Now, technically Sally Sparrow is not a “forgotten character” because her storyline was wrapped up pretty well in “Blink”, but it doesn’t stop us from wondering what could have been!

Sally Sparrow was such an important character in Doctor Who. For a character that was only in one episode, she made the most impact on the show. Her character continues to be a fan favorite, and “Blink” is consistently rated the highest episode in the new series.

After she opened a bookstore with her boyfriend/best friend’s brother at the end of Blink, we know she found the Doctor and gave him everything he’d need when it would happen in his timeline. It would have been great to have “Blink” from the Doctor’s point of view. It wouldn’t exactly bring her back, but at least we’d see the storyline from a new view!

There’s so many things Moffat could have done with Sally Sparrow. Bring her back, do a follow up episode, do an episode from the Doctor’s point of view; with the entrance of so many important characters coupled with the episode, why wouldn’t you do something with it?

Or, have Sally Sparrow come back for an episode and travel with the Doctor. She did save his life, after all. I think that’s worth a trip in the TARDIS, don’t you? They could bond over their love of rare things and go back in history!

She may not have been “forgotten” per se. She did have her storyline basically come full circle. But I don’t think any of us will ever get enough of Sally Sparrow and her amazing life. In fact, if the Doctor ever wants to regenerate into a face she’s seen before, I think Sparrow would be a great choice.
