Last night on the Fifth of November, while Britain was celebrating bonfire night, a different kind of celebration was happening in Scotland! The Scotland BAFTAs were taking place, honoring all forms of art that Scotland has had to offer in the last year.

Our very own Peter Capaldi made an appearance, presenting the award for Armando Iannucci for his considerable consideration to comedy. Iannucci is known for many Scottish shows, but mostly The Thick of It. As many people know, Capaldi starred in the show as Malcolm Tucker, a publicist who often talked first — using many profanities.

Thanks to the BAFTA Scotland Twitter, we kept up with Capaldi throughout the night.

First, we have him arriving at the Scotland BAFTA, talking about the creator of The Thick of It. It’s always great to see an actor return his roots, and what better than to honor than Peter, returning here?

The post below is not safe for work! But what are you expecting, it’s about The Thick of It!

"The comedy of the last thirty years has not been illuminated not just by his work, but by his influence. He gave us The Day to Day, Adam Partridge, he gave us The Thick of It! And in doing so, he created catchphrases, sayings, words that have actually entered the language."

The video ends with Peter going off the mouth, saying many profanities like his iconic character Malcolm Tucker would. Peter may always be the Doctor, but he was always Malcolm Tucker first. This night at the Scotish BAFTAs gave way to celebrate an old character that hopefully, we have not seen the last one.

The BAFTA Scotland Twitter was wonderful in keeping us updated with how wonderful a time Peter was having, and weren’t we glad to see him!

Could this mean more work with the comedic writer after Doctor Who? Who knows? But it’s definitely fun to see Peter at the BAFTAS!
