New casting notice for Game of Thrones season 8

Game of Thrones fansite Watchers on the Wall got its hands on a new casting notice for season 8. Because even with the show coming to an end, there’s still time to sneak in a new character or two.

So who is this new character? Per Watchers, the show wants someone aged 9-11 to play a “sad-eyed young girl.” The role is said to center on “one excellent scene with a leading cast member.” Interesting.

The notice specifies that whoever plays this part have a neutral southern accent, rather than a norther one. That points toward this character being in King’s Landing, or in the Riverlands, or anywhere that’s not the North. Is it someone Jaime encounters during his ride north? Is it one of Qyburn’s little birds, one who has occasion to speak to “leading cast member” Cersei Lannsiter for some reason? Does Euron count as a leading cast member, and if so, might this character have something to do with the Golden Company, and if she shares a scene with Euron, can we recommend she leave immediately?

Whoever she is, with shooting rumored to be continuing through mid-2018, it’ll be a while before we find out. Shooting on this role is scheduled for December 8 in Northern Ireland.

And in less earth-shattering news, we have some clearer photos of former Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo) out on the town with the current cast and crew in Belfast the other night. And a few new faces make appearances.

The guy on the right is Mada Abdelhamid, Jason Momoa’s trainor; Aquaman’s gotta stay in shape.

In addition to Kit Harington, Liam Cunningham and Rory McCann, we can now see that showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss were part of the party. And also Kristofer Hivju (Tormund) was there:

Nothing to see here but a couple of wild and crazy guys.

If Momoa is looking to rejoin the cast, hopefully he lets Benioff win the rematch.
