Ready or not, it’s time for season 11 of Doctor Who to begin filming!
BBC, Doctor Who
This past weekend, Bradley Walsh dropped major Doctor Who news: season eleven officially begins filming this week. In fact, it might already be happening. But what we do know is that Graham, Walsh’s companion, joins the team this week.
He told Sunday Brunch this past weekend, officially:
"“I am in Doctor Who, yeah,” he said. “That starts next week sometime. We’ve all met.”"
This comes along with other major news that dropped last week about the final piece of the puzzle: the Doctor’s outfit and how her TARDIS will look.
That was the final piece of the puzzle that all Doctor Who fans were waiting for. We officially have everything we need, and now we’re ready to begin the adventure! Currently, there’s no telling where the Doctor will take us. There’s been talk of different countries, different places in England, but one thing’s for sure, we’ll definitely keep you updated.
Following the filming
Of course, we want to respect the film process and spoilers as much as possible. But we will plan to post about any prospective film places that have popped up on Twitter and social media. Currently, according to Twitter, there has been reports of Doctor Who filming in Newport.
There is also this picture from Twitter of Jodie Whittaker next to Sharon D Clarke, still in Peter Capaldi’s outfit.
It looks like the filming has officially begun. I’m personally very excited to follow a season of Doctor Who from filming to television. Normally I like to ignore the spoilers as much as possible, but a few pictures can never hurt, can they?
Recap of what we know
Just in case you need a recap, this past week BBC announced the Doctor’s outfit and brand new TARDIS announced (along with a bit of controversy!). Many different opinions formed across the Doctor Who fandom, but many seemed to like the whimsical look, a flashback to the older series. We know this doctor flies with three different companions: Yasmin, Graham, and Kyle, as well as unknown character, played by Sharon D Clarke.
