Spoilers: A hint at Clara’s return could be in plain sight on Bill’s jacket

Since the beginning of season 10 on Doctor Who, Bill’s outfits have always been a topic of conversation. Between her shirts and her denim jacket, fans have been able to correctly guess at what’s in store for the show and Bill herself!

With the new photo for the special, the Radio Times pointed out multiple parts of the whole picture that could show what is going to happen. However, since Bill’s outfit seems to be where past clues have hidden, that’s where I’m going to focus.

First, here’s the photo:

The Jacket:

Bill’s jacket has always had the iron on images that predicted the future. She had a skull head on her jacket for most of season 10, ultimately meaning her demise into a Cyberman. She also has had a lightning bolt Cyberman at the bottom of her jacket, as you can see here.

In the Christmas photo, Bill has abandoned her denim jacket for a darker one, the one she’s wearing in World Enough and Time when she’s talking to the Doctor on the rooftop about his relationship with Missy. What does this mean? Well, it’s hard to say.

It still leaves the question of how Bill finds the Doctor, but there is one giant clue this dark jacket holds. They’ve hidden it well in the Twice Upon a Time picture, but the two iron-ons are a lightning bolt and…a burger? The lightning bolt could be anything — I would count on regeneration as the best bet. Lightning is probably the closest thing they could find that wouldn’t be too out of the ordinary.

But as for the burger, this signifies the biggest part. Burgers are known as an American food, served in American restaurants…like the one Clara works in! (Or pretends to, and it’s actually a TARDIS) This burger badge could be the closest thing we have to confirm that Jenna Coleman is returning at Christmas.

It wouldn’t be Doctor Who if we didn’t get a confirmation from a clothing design.

What do you think of the theory? Is a badge enough to confirm a cameo in Doctor Who?
