We’re getting closer and closer to the Doctor Who Christmas Special, and now it seems like every day we’re learning something new! Today, we learned that Twice Upon a Time will have a link to the very first Doctor Who episode Steven Moffat ever wrote.

Close your eyes and go back to the mid-00s, before Justin Bieber and One Direction. The first series of New Who is airing, and Steven Moffat writes his first Doctor Who episode, The Doctor Dances. It’s the first time we meet Jack Harkness and his charming…everything.

No, John Barrowman is not in the special. Sorry if I got you excited.

However, there was a dialogue between the two that holds the link that will appear in Twice Upon a Time, says the Radio Times.

DOCTOR: Sonic blaster, fifty-first century. Weapon Factories of Villengard?
JACK: You’ve been to the factories?
DOCTOR: Once.
JACK: Well, they gone now, destroyed. The main reactor went critical. Vaporized the lot.
DOCTOR: Like I said. Once. There’s a banana grove there, now. I like bananas. Bananas are good.

All that is currently known is that the planet of Villengard will come back for this episode. Obviously, no one knows, when, where, how, or why. It could be where Bill was when she got taken from her timeline to meet the Doctor.

Or maybe they take someone from the weapons factory when it was destroyed. Maybe the Aliens who are taking people from timelines are responsible for the destruction.

Or, who knows, maybe John Barrowman will make a cameo. At this point, it seems like anything is possible for the Christmas Special with all the rumors that are floating around about cameos happening. (I wouldn’t count on it.)

No matter how Moffat’s first episode is honored, it’s nice to see his Doctor Who career come full circle. Twelve years later, 49 episodes written, two doctors of his own, and six outstanding seasons (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10!).
