Rumor: Will there finally be a tieback to the 50th in Twice Upon a Time

BBC, Doctor Who Christmas Special

In order to give this article some context, we need to take a trip in our TARDIS back to May. David Bradley being in the Christmas Special was still a rumor, but we didn’t care. All we wanted to know was who was in the vault, and what Extremis would bring.

Around that time, there also was a rumor that if David Bradley was in the Christmas Special, then it might have something to do with the 50th Anniversary. It was a small, long shot rumor, but people were saying that it was possible that 12’s first scene may tie in with his last scene. But we had bigger problems at the time.

Now that we’re less than 20 days away from the Christmas Special, those rumors have come up again. Since it’s never been explained how the 12th Doctor came to help the other 12 regenerations, people are wondering if we will get our answer. It makes a reasonable amount of sense, especially given that normally Moffat likes to tie everything up in the last episode. Remember, we hadn’t seen the Silence until they were brought up again in his regeneration episode.

After the rumor had died down with less and less information to support it, recently Radio Times pointed out these hexagonal circular walls.

If you look closely, these same hexagonal walls were seen in the museum when the Doctor finally meets the Curator AKA Tom Baker. Which brings up questions…was the museum part of a TARDIS? Are the hexagonal round things part of another console room? Or are they just reusing sets?

There’s also the theory that this is the wall of the TARDIS that we never see. BBC recently tweeted a 360 view of the original TARDIS. But that still makes us wonder why the shapes were in the museum at all.

There’s obviously a lot we don’t know, but it would be nice to tie in the very first time we saw the 12th Doctor with the last episode. What do you think?
