Kit Harington returns to Belfast, John Bradley acts out a cocaine-fueled threesome, and more

Filming on Game of Thrones season 8 continues apace, with the stars coming in and out of Belfast, the show’s filming hub, all the time. The King in the North, for example:

A small note: Kit Harington doesn’t actually have a Twitter account — @kitharingtoncom is a fan page, but it’s something.

Anyway, when not shooting the final season of the show, Harington is gearing up for his wedding to costar Rose Leslie (Ygritte). Although how either of them find the time to deal with venues and invitations and cakes and whatnot given their schedules, I have no idea. (Leslie is on tap for a second season of the CBS legal drama The Good Fight.) Speaking to Town & Country, Leslie feels the same. “I’m trying to fit in my wedding,” she joked. “I haven’t tackled it. There’s just too much to do.”

It should give the cast and crew a nice break from filming, whenever it happens.

Other cast members are staying busy, as well. Deadline reports that Screen Media Films has picked up the North American distribution rights to Josie, a new film starring Sophie Turner (Sansa) as a the titular character, a mysterious stranger who blows into a small town in the American south, befriends several residents, and becomes the focus of local gossip. “ut her true intentions for arriving in town are far more sinister when her dark past comes to light.”

Sartorially, Turner is a long way from Westeros:

Meanwhile, Variety has it has it that Carice van Houten (Melisandre) will star in The Glass Room, an ambitious movie about the relationship between two women who live together in a famous house designed by celebrity architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Per a statement: “Spanning more than 80 years, the story in the vein of ‘The English Patient’ and ‘Carol’ reflects the most dramatic events of the 20th century.”

See? Ambitious. Although Variety doesn’t mention who exactly van Houten is playing.

Also, if you didn’t hear, John Bradley (Sam Tarly) starred in a movie called American Satan, about a punk band that makes a deal with the devil (played by Malcolm McDowell, naturally) to get famous. Bradley plays band manager Ricky Rollins, who at one point has a cocaine-fueled threesome with two prostitutes. You can watch that here, if you want to. It’s Samwell Tarly as you’ve never seen him before.

And in lighter Sam news, he gave some insight into his season 7 training process on Instagram:

Finally, Miguel Sapochnik, the Game of Thrones director lauded for helming episodes like “Hardhome,” “Battle of the Bastards,” and “The Winds of Winter,” was tapped to direct the pilot of Altered Carbon, a splashy new Netflix show with a heavy sci-fi feel:

With Altered Carbon coming out on February 2 and Sapochnik currently working hard on Game of Thrones season 8, his star should only continue to rise.
