Does Westworld Teaser Video Hint At More Tessa Thompson?

HBO just released released a Westworld teaser video before the Super Bowl. It looks like Tessa Thompson’s character will play a prominent role in season 2.

The Super Bowl is upon us, and that means we are getting the Westworld Season 2 trailer. So keep an eye out for our favorite logo in between touchdowns. However, if you don’t want wait that long, then check out the little pre-Super Bowl teaser video:

Don’t expect any new footage or a release date in this fun teaser. Instead, have fun entering the nightmare of one of the Delos workers. The video starts off with someone in Delos trying to reach the outside world for help. We’ve already seen a update at the Delos website where you can download a Delos Handbook that is tattered and covered in blood. This is obviously foreshadowing the chaos that Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy keep mentioning as the focus for Westworld Season 2.

But the cry for help is soon interrupted when Charlotte Hale (Tessa Thompson). The high-powered corporate head Hale mysteriously signs in with a mysterious message:

"“Greetings into Westworld! Journey into Night celebrations continue so we may be slow to respond to messages. Please contact corporate at Delos Destinations if the matter is urgent.Narrative unveiling successful, all is well.Ford took it in stride. Restructure/Management downsizing on track.”"

Yikes, that doesn’t bode well for the future of the park. At lease we know the “Journey Into Night” story line (the story Ford created at the end of season 1 that started the chaos) will still continue into season 2. If this message was created by Charlotte Hale (Tessa Thompson), then we may be seeing more of her character in the upcoming season.

Charlotte Hale (Tessa Thompson) came into the park as of one of Delos’ top corporate officers. Intelligent, shrewd and intimidating, we quickly learned she could handle things on her own. Too bad she couldn’t fool Robert Ford (Anthony Hopkins) with her scheme. Or maybe Ford dismissed it because he had bigger plans waiting to unfold. Either way, we know that Charlotte Hale is going to play a larger role. Even Tessa Thompson replied to a fan on Twitter:

Westworld fan, CRT @StoryofEverest asked Tessa Thompson, “It just occurred to me that the teaser for the #Westworld #SuperBowl ad featuring the name “Charlotte Hale” means we might be getting a whole lot more @TessaThompson_x this year, in charge, and that rules.” Thompson responded with an excited, “Hale Yes!” It does sound like we’ll see more of Hale being in charge and changing the park.

If the message in the teaser video was created by Hale, then we know that she survived the attack underneath the park. Which means, we may see more of her in the outside world. Remember, she uploaded 35 years of park data into the host Peter Abernathy (Louis Herthum) and sent him out of the park. Expect to see Hale and more of Delos planning on restructuring the parks and learning more about their plans of the data.

What’s interesting about the Charlotte Hale character is the possibility of seeing more of Delos. That could even lead to more scenes about the owner, the Man in Black. Are they both on the same team or was Hale working behind his back? Maybe the trailer during the Super Bowl will provide a few more clues.

We still have a few months until Westworld Season 2 drops. Until then, we will continue to speculate on anything and everything Westworld.
