Season 8 filming: New images from the last days of shooting in Dubrovnik

The Game of Thrones production spent a few days last week shooting scenes in Dubrovnik, Croatia, which has stood in for King’s Landing since season 2. Now, The Dubrovnik Times reports that the cast and crew has cleared out, marking the final time they will be in the city to film scenes for this show.

But before that happened, the Times took photos and video of key cast and crew members. Below, members of Cersei’s Queensguard march to set wearing matching red blankets:

Meanwhile, these fellows look like Gold Cloaks. They don’t get matching blankets, although Ser Pounce would approve of the one with the paw print:

More senior cast members were on the scene, as well. Standby for SPOILERS:

Last week, it came out that in addition to the people you’d expect to see on the King’s Landing set (Cersei, the Mountain), Kit Harington (Jon Snow) was also on site, and taking some very interesting meetings. Below, the Times captured video of him arriving on the scene, being fussed over by attendants in a very Justin Bieber-esque fashion.

Also like the Beebs…we imagine…there’s a guy who’s job it is to carry around Jon Snow’s costume. We’d take that job.

Last week, we spied a lot of the primary cast members through a window in the city’s Bokar Fortress, where the production was filming. For example, here’s Lena Headey (Cersei) staring through it bold as you please:

Below, we have Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane) seen through the same (very useful) window:

We knew Björnsson was in the city, but hadn’t seen him on the set near the other cast members yet.

And that’s about it. Thank you for your service, Dubrovnik. It’s the end of an era! There’s always the spinoffs
