After a Redditor decoded a message that lead to another version of the Super Bowl trailer, Westworld fans got a glimpse of new character: James Delos. It looks like Westworld Season 2 may have a new Big Bad. James Delos (seen slashing his face in the trailer) is played by award winning actor, Peter Mullan. Everything You Need To Know About Peter Mullan
As one of the
new cast members in Westworld Season 2
, Peter Mullan looks to leave his mark on the show. Mullan became interested in directing films at the age of 19 while growing up in Peterhead, Scotland. His mother was a nurse and his father, Charles Mullan, was a lab technician at Glasgow University. Eventually, Peter Mullan followed his father to Glasgow University to study economic history and drama.
Peter Mullan took his knowledge of theater and combined it with difficult childhood. While growing up, his abusive father was an alcoholic and was suffering from lung disease. This led Mullan to become homeless and join a street gang in Glasgow. But he used his past experiences and channeled them into his work.
In 1998 the Cannes Film festival, he won the Best Actor Award for his portrayal of a recovering alcoholic in My Name Is Joe. Although he is known for directing art house movies like The Magdalene Sisters and Neds, he has acted in several mainstream movies.
You may first seen him in Trainspotting where he played the low-level drug dealer Swanney aka Mother Superior. He was the one who gave Renton (Ewan McGregor) the heroin that made Renton want to quit drugs. Mullan also made an appearance in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and Part 2. He played Corban Yaxley, one of the Death Eaters seen fighting in the Battle of Hogwarts.
Currently, Peter Mullan was in Netflix’s original series Ozark alongside Jason Bateman. In the show, Mullan plays Jacob Snell, the local crime lord in a small town in Missouri.
