Whether it’s activity at the Winterfell set in Moneyglass, new construction at Magheramorne Quarry or the ever-expanding King’s Landing set at Titanic Studios, the Game of Thrones production in Northern Ireland has been humming lately. But the show films in other locations as well. For example, what’s going on at Linen Mill Studios in Corbet-Banbridge, which has been used for areas as diverse as Riverrun, Winterfell and the Three-Eyed Raven’s Cave? @GoTlikeLocation, the same outlet that brought us some exciting new pics from the Winterfell set the other day, has an update.
We know that there’s been filming activity around Linen Mill Studios for a while, as the show’s telltale pink signs have been on site since November of last year. Since then, things have been quiet, although security has reportedly been “very tight,” so it’s not dead.
What’s more, there are still sets left over from previous seasons that have yet to be torn down. For example, the Riverrun set is still up and running, at least as of last year…
…and the multi-purpose ship set used in last year’s Greyjoy-vs-Greyjoy sea battle is still standing as of earlier this week, complete with green screen:
There are any number of uses the production could have for a ship set. Euron is ferrying the Golden Company across the Narrow Sea as we speak, and Theon needs to try and rescue Yara at some point, right?
Game of Thrones season 8 looks like it will make incredibly heavy use of practical, outdoor sets, and it’ll pay to keep an eye on all of them, wherever they are.
Next: Season 8 speculation: What are all those doing outside the Winterfell set?
