Behold our official Game of Thrones March Madness bracket

"We’ve been sitting here for days! Start the damn joust before I piss myself…"
— Robert Baratheon
As any NCAA fan will tell you, March is for madness. Soon enough, 64 college basketball teams will compete in the biggest tournament of the year. Here at Winter Is Coming, we’re going to pit 64 Game of Thrones characters against each other, two at a time, with one eventually emerging with the title of Favorite Character. Check out our bracket (click to blow up the image):
Our four number one seeds were split between two houses: Targaryen and Lannister. Jon, Daenerys, Cersei and Tyrion sit in the driver’s seat, but upsets are not out of the question. When we held this tournament last year, Littlefinger took the crown, so this is anyone’s game. Daenerys has perhaps the stiffest test, as she takes on the queen of the stare-down, Lyanna Mormont. Round 1 also features a much anticipated matchup between Sandor and Gregor Clegane. Get hype!
Voting for the first round opens this Sunday. We’ll have individual polls for all of the first round matches, so rally your friends and support your favorite character. And remember: you can use any criteria you want when voting. If Lancel Lannister is your favorite character and you don’t know why, vote for Lancel Lannister.
Here’s our complete schedule.
First Round (64 characters): March 11-16th
Second Round (32 characters): March 17-18th
Regional Semis (16 characters): March 19th-23rd
Regional Finals (8 characters): March 24-25th
National Semis (4 characters): March 26th-31st
Nation Finals (2 characters): April 1st-April 2nd
Any of the first round matchups catch your eye? Will Littlefinger defend his crown? Will Daenerys make it out of the first round? The madness begins this Sunday.
