Jeffrey Wright Comments On Clues Hidden Within Westworld’s Pilot Episode
We have carefully combed through every bit of
Westworld
information dropped at SXSW last weekend. We heard from the cast and creators, but overall, Season 2 still remains a mystery. There might be, however, clues in the show’s very first episode.
During an interview at SXSW 2018
, Jeffrey Wright said something that intrigued fans. He hinted that there are hints to themes and storylines hidden within
Westworld’s
pilot episode. Bernard himself, Jeffrey Wright, said the following regarding the
Westworld
Season 1 pilot:
"“There are a lot of things there. Having just finished the work we did this season, there are some things there that I missed.”"
Evan Rachel Wood Reiterates And Expounds On Jeffrey Wright’s Comments
While he didn’t say much, he also presented a thread that fans are sure to follow. Evan Rachel Wood also commented on the clues in
Westworld’s
pilot during
. Wood expounded on Wright’s comments, but she also hinted at how well planned the show is. Here’s what said Wood to Entertainment Weekly – which will definitely have fans re-watching the show’s first season:
"“I’m going back to things in the first season. That’s what’s so cool about the show, what [showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy] worked so hard on. There are things I actually said as Dolores that I had no idea of the significance of until filming this season, and now I’m going, ‘My god, [the showrunners] were telling us!’ I think even when we’re in season 7, you’ll still be able to go back to the pilot and find clues that were right in front of you. Every time I walk on a set, I’m like, ‘What did you guys put in here?’ The pictures on the walls, the books on the shelves… there’s forethought with everything.”"
What are these clues? Well, that’s up to you (and probably Reddit) to find out. One thing is for sure: Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan are playing the long game. They have everything planned out for several seasons to come. Hopefully, we will learn more about Season 2 moving forward. Until then, we can’t wait to see how Westworld’s second season unfolds.
