Every Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. CST, we here at WiC take to our Facebook page to talk through all things Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire. This week, we cover a plethora of news coming from the season 8 set, including new casting notices and HBO’s never-ending journey to building its own version of King’s Landing (that last bit starts around 5:14).

Then, around 13:25, we pose a question: In the wake of the news that Amazon is spending a ridiculous $500 million (to start) to make its own Lord of the Rings show, is that show poised to “replace” Game of Thrones when HBO’s hit goes off the air? You know there’s gonna be a battle for the fantasy TV throne, and Amazon is trying to position itself to come out the winner. Let’s get into it.

Public service announcement: the podcast version ofTake the Black Live is now on iTunes! Please subscribe and download from there if you can. Also, you can help us out by giving us a five-star rating and leaving a friendly comment! We’re also on Blog Talk Radio.

Finally, Josh and I sit down to talk through two more chapters of A Game of Thrones (Eddard VIII and Catelyn VI (19:45) for yet another episode of A Song of Dan and Josh. Watch below!

We’ll be back for more Take the Black Live next Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. CST. And if you just can’t get enough of us, you can also hear Razor’s Game of Thrones podcast here.
