Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (the Mountain) promises that season 8 will be “epic”

Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (Gregor “the Mountain” Clegane) is a very busy guy. When he’s not setting world strength records, throwing shade at UFC superstar Connor McGregor, or filming scenes for season 8, he’s shooting spoof commercials for home carbonation company SodaStream in honor of April Fool’s Day. He talked about that experience to The Express, which also managed to ask him about what’s coming in the final season of Game of Thrones.

"The only thing I can tell you is that it will be epic!"

That’s it. Not that we blame The Express for not following up. We remember “The Mountain and the Viper.”

Anyway, here’s that spoof video Björnsson made. If he asks, we thought it was hilarious.

Moving on, former Game of Thrones star Aidan Gillen (Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish) had his own take season 8…even though he won’t be in it…we assume. “Although I’m not working on it any more, that’s beside the point,” he told The Independent. “[T]he experience will always be there. It’s spliced into my life.” Gillen also said that he’s “excited to see the end of Game of Thrones, not sad.

"I’ll be watching and hoping there’s still room for lots of surprises. It’ll probably be devastating. I hope so anyway."

Now that’s the Littlefinger we learned to love/hate.

Gillen’s newest project is Dave Allen at Peace, a biopic about the Irish comedian and satirist of the same name. Gillen plays the title role, and stars alongside former Thrones castmates Ian McElhinney (Ser Barristan Selmy) and Conleth Hill (Varys).

The pic, which aired on BBC 2, was filmed mostly in Belfast, which is also where most of Game of Thrones is filmed. So Gillen can still join the cast for a pint if he likes.
