Thanks to the footage shown at SXSW 2018 and the new trailer, we know that Dolores will bring the pain to Delos. Specifically, she will be the human’s “reckoning”.

Westworld Season 2 is almost upon us, and we can’t wait to pick up where the first season left off. Specifically, we want to see what happens after Dolores seemingly started her own host revolution. Based on the trailers, we have an idea of the shape of things to come, but what exactly does it mean?

For one thing, we know that Dolores’ righteous campaign has only just begun. In a new International HBO trailer, we saw a bit more of Dolores’ speech from previous clips. The most interesting bit, is that she seems to be addressing herself as the human’s reckoning. Let’s take a deeper look into what that mans exactly.

New International Trailer Promises The Reckoning Is Coming In Westworld Season 2

In a new trailer released for HBO’s international audiences, we get a better look at the chaos coming in Westworld Season 2. Specifically, we see that Dolores is at the center of the violence. This isn’t surprising; however, her speech definitely caught our attention. We’ve heard her refer to “the reckoning” before, but not quite like this. Her speech reads as follows from the HBO Czech Republic trailer:

"“Did you every think about your actions? The price you would have to pay if there was a reckoning? The reckoning is here. You’re in my dream”"

This exact trailer was also released on

Sky Atlantic’s

YouTube account, but not for American audiences yet. Oddly enough, all the North American trailers play up the drama and conflict within the characters. The new international trailer, however, showcases the chaos and violence. We could be reading into that a bit, but this trailer gets the point across. The Dolores we knew in

Westworld

Season 1 is gone. She’s reached the center of the maze and become something new – and quite terrifying.

Although Dolores doesn’t flat-out say: “I am the reckoning,” her phrasing hints at it. In all likelihood, she’s probably referring to the host’s revolt and actions, but it still fits. She is the leader of the revolt, and without her, none of this would have happened. It also means that Dolores’ motivation is a bit more complex than just killing. She’s exacting what she thinks is either justice, retribution or something we don’t understand yet. In any case, this new trailer has us even more excited for Westworld Season 2, and we can’t wait to see how it plays out!
