Using your friend’s HBO Go password isn’t the only way to watch Game of Thrones and the rest of HBO’s massive library of movies and TV. Certain streaming services also offer an HBO subscription as an add-on option. Hulu is one of those services, and it’s just announced that it’s discounting the price of its HBO add-on from $14.99 a month all the way down to $4.00 a month.
Hulu and HBO began their partnership back in June of 2017, just ahead of the premiere of Game of Thrones season 7. The timing of this price cut is also fortuitous, as it comes right before the premiere of Westworld season 2, on April 22. Now as before, Hulu is clearly looking to scoop up new subscribers by taking advantage of a buzz-worthy show.
The discount is available immediately for subscribers who don’t already have the HBO add-on. It will last for six months, after which it will go back to the regular price of $14.99 a month. If you already have HBO through Hulu, you do not qualify for the discount — sorry.
This means if you’re on Hulu’s limited commercials plan of $7.99 a month, adding HBO for $4.99 has you paying $12.98 per month, which is two whole dollars below the pre-discount price for the HBO add-on by itself. This is a phenomenal deal. What are you waiting for?
