Westworld season 2 premiere fashion review – pt 2: menswear

Westworld Season 2 cast reunites for red carpet premiere. They all showed their unique personalities through some truly incredible fashion. Part 2 of 2!

On the night of April 16 the Westworld cast reunited for the red carpet premiere of Season 2. Each cast member showed their unique personalities through some truly incredible fashion. The Delos Portrait Studio was brought online (Heh. See what I did there?) to capture fun, chic poses and turn them into very entertaining clips.

As fans, we tend to follow our favorite actors off the screen and onto the streets. Their fashion tastes influences ours. Watching the red carpet step-and-repeat, we react viscerally at the first sight of their dresses, suits and accessories. The Westworld cast showed up in individual designer fashion ensembles and we loved it! In Part 1 of this two part article, we’ll be covering what the ladies wore. In Part 2 we’ll cover the guys.

Now let’s talk Fashion!

Prints and textures came courtesy of Simon Quarterman, James Marsden, Rodrigo Santoro and Jimmi Simpson. Men’s suits used to be rather boxy. Nice to see slim-fit tailoring trending now. The frustrating thing about men’s fashion is the lack of information on which designer they wore. I’ll do my best!

Simon wore a navy blue plaid, three piece suit. The classic white shirt and black tie lends to an allover, seamless look. I love this look! I can’t find anything wrong with it. James’ plaid burgundy suit was offset by an abstract print tie. The color looks great on him but I question the tie. It could’ve had a shade of burgundy in it.

I was also not too fond of the bright red tie Rodrigo wore. The light gray suit, with over-sized check is a refreshing choice. There’s a hint of red on the lapel which may be the reason for the red tie. Jimmi’s choice was as unique as he is with an all over dark chambray suit by Richard James. The black tie is understated while the white pocket square picks up on the white shirt buttons. This added a visual break in the otherwise monochromatic ensemble.

Gustaf, Luke and Jeffrey in Modern Classics

Modern classic elegance came courtesy of Gustaf Skarsgard, Luke Hemsworth and Jeffrey Wright. Again, I’m pleased to see tailored suits! Gustaf went with an all black ensemble. I’m not opposed to a monochromatic look. The suit appears to have a slight texture which may have looked different in person. A accessory with a hint of color or shine would’ve helped this not be boring. The only pizzazz came from his hat. Which was also black. *sigh*

Luke matched his blue eyes with a dark blue suit. I like the devil-may-care no tie and unbuttoned shirt style. A shirt of a different color would’ve taken this outfit to the next level. I dig Jeffrey’s overall look. It suits his personality. Classic black and white shirt combination. The tie has subtle vertical lines, sheen and a small embroidered design. This adds a touch of personality to the outfit.

My favorite looks of the night!

Drum roll please. Ben Barnes and Leonardo Nam! It’s no secret Ben Barnes is my favorite actor. Readers will notice a lot of Logan related articles from yours truly in the coming months. But enough of my fawning – onto fashion!

Ben Barnes in Burberry

Ben’s sporting a navy blue, mini-grid pattered suit. I had a tough time tracking down which fashion designer he was wearing. In the name of research, I took some time to analyze the design details. I’m making an educated guess here but I think it’s Burberry. The jacket’s buttons and angled stitched pocket square are brand specific. You can find a similar style from Burberry here.

I love the shirt’s pink Spring shade. It harmonizes well with navy blue. The shirt and pocket square have a subtle mini-print that echos back to the jacket’s. His tie has the same dusty pink shade as the pocket square. The tie’s navy blue dots then brings the ensemble full circle. Ending the look with a touch of class, Ben opted for black wingtip, lace-up oxford shoes.

Leonardo Nam in Dzojchen

Like the A-ha song ‘Hunting High and Low‘ I searched for a closeup of Leonardo’s spectacular outfit. Navy and dark blue was a running theme in menswear for the premiere. The check patterned material had a mix of matte and shiny squares. The obi belt is one of the most unique accessories I’ve EVER seen in men’ fashion. A crisp white, mandarin collar shirt adds to the east-west theme. The loosely tucked, pink silk pocket square was the right amount of icing. Ending the look with wow-factor, Leonardo opted for ombre leather lace-up shoes.

Thanks to Leonardo’s Instagram Story post we have a spontaneous moment of him, Louis Herthum and Ben Barnes. Watch it here!

Another highlight? Evan Rachel Wood’s reaction to seeing Ben’s new haircut.
