20) FINN JONES

Loras Tyrell, the Knight of Flowers, was turned into an unfortunate pawn in the struggle between Cersei Lannister and the High Sparrow, and obliterated in the destruction of the Sept of Baelor. British actor Finn Jones brought dash and gentility to his performance as Loras, a character who falls from great heights into ruin.

As Jones tells Interview Magazine, he was fortunate enough to rub shoulders with just about every other actor in the Game of Thrones main cast: “I pretty much met everyone. I was lucky, because I got to work with a lot of different actors, but also you meet everyone at press events, Comic Cons, table reads. By the end of the six years, there wasn’t a single person I didn’t know. And everyone was fucking amazing.”

Jones got his start in the soap operas Hollyoaks Later (2009) and Hollyoaks (2010), and also appeared in The Bill (2010), The Sarah Jane Adventures (2010, below), Life in Squares (2015), Iron Fist (2016, above) and The Defenders (2017).  His movie resume includes Sleeping Beauty (2014), The Last Showing (2014) and Leatherface (2017).

Continuing his discussion with Interview Magazine, Jones described how he first heard about Netflix’s Iron Fish when he was at the airport right after filming his last scene as Loras Tyrell, wondering what might happen to his career post-Thrones: “It was pretty scary. After having a job for six years, to not have anything, it’s overwhelming and daunting. I was at the stage in my career where it was now or never. Thrones was great, but it was a recurring guest star. For my career, I wanted to get a series regular … I never imagined I’d get a lead.”

And the rest is history.
