21) KERRY INGRAM

If any one death on Game of Thrones deserves the title of “Most Tragic,” it’s probably that of the innocent Shireen Baratheon. Played by the plucky and endearing Kerry Ingram, Shireen is one of those minor characters who didn’t get a ton of screentime but managed to be three-dimensional nonetheless.

Unlike a number of the very young thespians on this list, Ingram had already earned a set of impressive stage credits before she arrived on the Thrones set. After starring in a Drury Lane production of Oliver!, her performance as Matilda Wormwood in the Stratford-Upon-Avon production of Matilda (below) won her an Oliver Award for Best Actress in a Musical.

Ingram’s first big screen role was as an Uncredited Village Child in Russell Crowe’s Robin Hood (2010). She followed that up with appearances in Burke and Hare (2010) and Les Miserables (2012). And of course her career exploded when she appeared on Thrones. To this day, everyone asks her about her final scene, as she told Hypable:

"The most challenging thing with that scene was, everything that Shireen has done I could relate to something in my life, one of her scenes, except for this one, cause I’ve never been burned alive…I kind of played it just the emotions without any backstory."

Since her Thrones debut, Ingram has starred in TV series such as Wolf Hall (2015, with Thrones veterans Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Anton Lesser), Barbarians Rising (2016, with Thrones alumni Ian Beattie and Tom Hopper), and Doctors (2016). You can currently catch Ingram in the TV series Free Rein (photo above).
