35) KRISTOFER HIVJU

Tormund is the big, bold and love-struck leader of the surviving wildlings. As portrayed by the charismatic Norwegian actor Kristofer Hivju, the impressively bearded Tormund has proven a loyal lieutenant to both Mance Rayder and Jon Snow, and a hilariously earnest suitor of Brienne of Tarth.

Referring to the infamous Game of Thrones character slaughterhouse, Hivju assured The Daily Mail that Tormund is never safe: “Who knows?! It’s one more episode, bro. Nobody knows. A lot of things could happen. I really don’t know. I don’t think anybody is safe, especially with the threat that’s upon them. No, I don’t feel safe at all.”

Hivju has bene active in Norwegian TV since appearing in Fox Gronland in 2001. Since then he’s had roles in shows like Storst av Alt (2007), Lilyhammer (2014) and Beck (2016-2018, above). His film work includes Manhunt (2008), The Thing (2011), After Earth (2013, below), Operation Earth (2014), The Last King (2016) and The Fate of the Furious (2016).

And as for Tormund making sexy eyes at Brienne of Tarth, Hivju tells The Observer that those moments were scripted, not improvised. But will this odd couple ever get together? “[Y]ou have to wait and see, but if I can speak on behalf of Tormund, I will say that he’s very into this girl. When you have a relationship where you don’t know who will win in a fight, that’s a great start to a relationship.”
