51) FRANCIS MAGEE

As a sworn brother and the “Wandering Crow” recruiter for the Night’s Watch, Yoren doesn’t suffer fools gladly. But when he’s among friends he’s ready to draw a pint and swap tales. Veteran Irish actor Francis Magee was the right man for the part of this rough and tumble soldier with a soft side.

Magee has a burly face and. As he tells the Walford Gazette, “I suppose with a face like mine, I’m never going to present children’s TV, am I?”

Magee’s first onscreen credit was in Eastenders in 1993. He’s kept the pedal to the metal ever since, appearing on programs like 99-1 (1994), A Touch of Frost (1996), Footballer’s Wives (2003), Murphy’s Law (2006), The Bill (1997-2008), 1066: The Battle for Middle Earth (2009), Perrier’s Bounty (2009, with Thrones alumnus Michael McElhatton) Doctors (2000-2011), House of Anubis (201-2013), Casualty (1998-2014), Ripper Street (2014), Outlander (2015), The Bastard Executioner (2015) and The Frankenstein Chronicles (2017).

Magee has also done a lot of movies, including Driven (1998, above), Layer Cake (2004), Sahara (2005), Brighton Rock (2010), Hammer of the Gods (2013), Glory Days (2014), Jimmy’s Hall (2014, below), Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), and Justice League (2017).

In 2018, Magee will appear on shows like Witless and in the features I Made This for You, The Dig, As a Prelude to Fear and Winterlong.
