“Hey, they were in Game of Thrones”—Where else have you seen these 55 GoT cast members? (Part 2)
53) BEN HAWKEY
As Hot Pie, British actor Ben Hawkey was given a wonderful arc; he got to play a character who develop from an aggressive bully into a friendly, warm-hearted fan favorite. When asked about Hot Pie’s evolution, Hawkey told HBO he was very pleased with it:
"I think he’s obviously done quite well for himself, considering. He was a bit of a bully and evidently not sure of himself in Season 1, but in Season 4 he’s working and doing what he loves. I think he’s really come a long way."
Hawkey’s movie credits include The Kid (2010) and Ra.One (2011). He’s also appeared in the TV show Beaver Falls (2011, all photos).
Playing off Hot Pie’s culinary aptitude, Hawkey famously opened his own bakery called ‘You Know Nothing, Jon Dough,’ baking direwolf bread for the premiere of the show’s seventh season. His direwolf loaves are made from whole wheat cornbread and orange zest, but he tells Digital Spy that his recipe is a secret:
"Hot Pie’s Direwolf loaves are a favourite for Game of Thrones fans, and people are always asking me for the secret of my recipe. I can’t share that, but Deliveroo (an online food delivery service/app) customers will have the chance to try them themselves. You don’t even need to take a dangerous walk down the King’s Road to visit, it comes to you."
Hawkey can be seen in the film The Drowning of Arthur Braxton in 2018.
